Exploring Maritime Art toward the Appreciation of Coastal Literacy

This paper aims to show appreciation of maritime artworks. There is much global literature on art but only a few foci appreciation. Filling the vacancy requires study how community or public values artworks in context coastal community’s literacy. article presents results through Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The participants included academicians, government officials, artists, creators, community, kiyai, and students. appreciated were “Segara Garam’ “Tasbih Pesisir” as natural virtual Respondents’ insight, knowledge, experience showed varied perceptions. Respondents with culture backgrounds quite expressive expressing importance local wisdom values, while respondents without paid more attention artistic aesthetic aspects instead meaning.
